The Apocrypha

The  word’s  origin  is  the  Medieval Latin adjective apocryphus, “secret, or non-canonical”, from the Greek adjective apokryphos, ”obscure”, and  from the verb apokryptein, ”to hide away”. 

The Apocrypha are works of unknown authorship or of doubtful origin.
